As a woman in my 40’s, society often expects me to take up less space, to be quieter and more reserved. But instead, I'm finding an overwhelming desire to shine my light even brighter, to speak up louder, and to be unapologetic about taking as much space as I damn well want.
My 40s have been incredibly liberating. I feel more at peace, lighter, and more joyful. This transformation is largely because I ran out of fucks to give. So, don’t fear getting older—it’s a privilege and a gift.
The older I get, the more I realize that all the things I used to care so much about—how I looked, the clothes I wore, what I did for a living, or how much money I earned—none of it brought me real happiness. It was all fleeting and superficial.
Living your life as your authentic self is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. Embrace getting older, own your journey, take up space, and let your light shine unapologetically.
